Tea in your smoothie you ask? Absolutely! We’ve taken smoothies to the next level by using green tea as the base – coming up with our Berry Tea Smoothie. Green tea is an antioxidant powerhouse, and unless you plan on brewing an incredibly strong batch of green tea, you will reap all of the wonderful health benefits green tea has to offer without sacrificing any of the taste.
Looking to take it a step further? Consider adding Matcha to your smoothies. This finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea, has roughly ten times the antioxidant content per cup of brewed green tea. Find it at Kardish, Whole Foods, or in many local grocery stores.
- 1 organic green tea bag, steeped (or Matcha)
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 cup blueberries
- ½ a banana
- ½ an avocado
- 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ½ tsp lemon zest
- 1 scoop Staterra Organic Brown Rice protein (Vanilla)
- Make the green tea first, steeping it in a 1 cup of boiling water. Let cool in the fridge for a few minutes while putting other ingredients together.
- Once the tea is cooled (or room temperature), blend all the ingredients and enjoy!
